Ex Master-at-Arms Thomas Hendrie worked on the Australis and Ellinis between 1970 and `72. Thomas then settled in Australia for 22 years before returning to the UK where he now lives in Selsey,
West Sussex. He was on the ships with the late Jim Galloway, Thomas was sad to hear of the death of his friend and co Master-at-Arms. He was immensley proud to have served on both the Ellinis and Australis in the 1970's. The
fun he had with Jim and the other crew, he could have written a book about! One thing that stood out about Jim was his professionalism, he would always do his duty first, then had fun!
Thomas hopes that everyone enjoys, and finds interest in his photos. if anyone wishes to say hello to Thomas, he can be contacted on this email address:

Welcome all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, which has now been online since 1998!
I will continue to update the site if I receive a new story, or if you have interesting photos taken on the ship during your voyage
on either the southbound, northbound, or on one of the South Pacific cruises. We used to do those trips several times a year
from Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand).
I am deeply moved by the interest and wonderful contributions from the numerous passengers and crew over many years.
You can send an e-mail to me on the link below:
A HUGE THANK YOU
Warm Regards
Ken
