Jimmy Galloway's Picture Gallery.
I met Jim during the first time I worked on the Australis in the summer of 1973, I tried to keep a wide berth of this Master-at-Arms as he was good at handing out fines to the crew for all their misdemeanors. He also knew my brother Ray who was the ships Entertainment Officer along with the late
John L. Sullivan.
Jimmy "served time" with Chandris Lines between 1966 and 1978. He worked on the Queen Frederika, Australis and the Ellinis. Jims post was Master-at-Arms, and on the Ellinis he held the position of Inventory Officer. After working for Chandris Jim left the company and worked for British Rail, based in London. In recent years Jim has moved to the west country and has worked in store security.
In his personal life Jim has been married twice and has two daughters and a grand-daughter. Jim sadly passed away a few years ago (we all miss you Jim).

Welcome all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, which has now been online since 1998!
I will continue to update the site if I receive a new story, or if you have interesting photos taken on the ship during your voyage
on either the southbound, northbound, or on one of the South Pacific cruises. We used to do those trips several times a year
from Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand).
I am deeply moved by the interest and wonderful contributions from the numerous passengers and crew over many years.
You can send an e-mail to me on the link below:
A HUGE THANK YOU
Warm Regards
Ken
